[Misc] Critters

Overview

Critters are neutral hostiles that can be killed to earn extra minerals and experience. They reside in certain locations on the map, and spawn on every 30 second interval after the initial creep wave spawn, but will only respawn if all critters in the patch are killed. They also can be spawned at beacons in public games but have much longer respawn times in most cases.


Large Critters

Large critters are stronger than small critters. A large critter spawn location will spawn 1 large critter. Large critters are worth 30 minerals and experience.

Small Critters

Small critters are weaker and more numerous than large critters. A small critter spawn location will spawn 3 small critters. Small critters are worth 10 minerals and experience each.

Beacon Critters *special*

Up to 6 beacon critters can be found in public games and are usually much stronger than normal critters. They are affected by the beacon's aura, so a large mind-controlled army may be nessasary to effectively farm this spot. Beacon critters take the form of heroes, so be wary of possible attacks. Banelings, Dark Archon and Banshee are all very good at farming this spot. As a side effect of consistent farming enemy heroes seem to disapear for some reason. Stats greatly vary and increase as the game goes on.
